Foxera · Booking platform
Foxera is booking and management software for salons, spas and clinics. It includes the calendar staff work from, the online booking clients use, payments, two-way SMS, and the admin that runs the platform for every business on it.
The platform
Each business on Foxera gets a calendar, client records, staff and rosters, services, stock, checkout, reporting and marketing. Clients book and pay online, and the salon takes card payments in person with Tap to Pay on iPhone.
A lot of the work runs without anyone touching it: reminders, confirmations, waitlist offers, cancellation fees, follow-up texts, staff schedules and nightly backups all run on scheduled jobs.
What's in it
Day, week, month and list views with a column per staff member. Appointments drag between times and staff. Each move is checked by a set of rules: moving one service in a multi-service booking asks whether to move the whole booking, a clash offers to swap to a free staff member, and pushing a booking back checks the chain behind it. When someone calls in sick, their day is redistributed with a suggested replacement for each appointment, and the salon approves or rejects each one.
Clients search for salons, pick services and see real availability, which takes opening hours, existing bookings and staff leave into account. They can save favourite salons and services, pay deposits, buy gift cards and leave reviews. Recurring bookings, group bookings and service series are supported on the salon side.
Each salon onboards to Stripe Connect. Client payments go to the salon, with Foxera's commission taken automatically. Deposits save the card for later, so if a client cancels late or doesn't show, the salon's policy is charged to that card with any deposit already netted off. In the salon, checkout handles invoices, receipts, refunds, gift cards and client credit, and there's a daily cash-up.
A companion iPhone app turns the phone into a card reader. The dashboard queues a payment, the iPhone picks it up, takes the card and reports back. A digital receipt goes out automatically for every transaction, approved or declined, which Apple requires before approving the app.
Foxera handles the telecom compliance paperwork and gives each salon its own Australian mobile number. Reminders include a tap-to-confirm link. If a client replies NO, they're texted a short list of other times, and replying with a number books it. Anything unclear is left in the inbox for staff rather than guessed at. The same system texts clients when their appointment is pushed back or their stylist is off sick.
Clients join the waitlist for a service with a date, date range or days of the week. When a matching slot opens up, it's held and offered to the first person in line with a one-tap confirm link. If they don't confirm in time, it moves to the next person, and releases the slot if nobody takes it.
Scheduled jobs send reminders, notifications, the next day's schedule to each staff member, and follow-up texts the salon sets up (a review request a few days after a colour, or a win-back message when a client hasn't been in for a while). Other jobs expire offers, charge no-shows and back up the database every night.
A chat and voice assistant can search clients, check availability, find the next free slot, propose bookings, pull revenue figures and import a client list pasted in any format. It always shows a preview before anything is saved. Clients can upload a photo of the look they want and get matched to the salon's services. It also suggests rebooking times and products based on each client's history.
Staff, rosters, leave, targets and commission, with PIN sign-in and a clock-in kiosk. Services with categories and groups. Stock, suppliers and purchase orders that are emailed to the supplier and update stock when received. Reports, email marketing, multiple locations, and a super-admin for subscription plans, plan limits, Stripe and SMS status, backups and automated end-to-end flow tests.
