Rope Access Technicians · Scheduling platform
A web admin for the office, a mobile app for technicians on iOS and Android, and an API that keeps both in sync with simPRO, the job management system the business already runs on.
The brief
Scheduling was done by hand, timesheets were on paper, and technicians in the field couldn't easily see their upcoming jobs, what equipment they needed, or who they'd be working with.
The job was to build an admin for the schedulers and an app for the technicians, with simPRO staying the single source of truth for jobs, cost centres, staff and purchase orders.
How it was built
Workshops with the team to map how they schedule, what the timesheet rules are and how equipment is tracked. Worked out which simPRO API endpoints were needed and set up the project structure.
The web admin with the drag-and-drop calendar, multi-day assignments and staff availability, reading live job and cost centre data from simPRO.
The iOS and Android app: job views, clock in and out, RFID equipment sign-in, purchase orders and team lists, all synced with the admin.
Supervisor approval for timesheets, hours allocated to cost centres, purchase order management and gear tracking, then integration testing against simPRO.
Browser and device testing, user acceptance testing with the team, production deployment with Docker, and App Store and Google Play submissions.
